Can
anyone use MiniMat ?
Yes,
it's ideal for every category of golfer - and
aspiring golfers.
The
mat seems very small compared with ordinary mats ?
Minimat
is the same size
as a large divot. It's wider than your golf club so
if you are hitting the ball, you'll also be hitting
the mat it's sitting on. Size is definitely not
important as long as it's in the right place - where
it's needed!
Doesn't
the mat wear out quickly ?
Minimats are long-lasting because
there is no violent impact between clubface and the
mat. While other mats remain stationary causing every
shot to rip & tear at the mat surface, Minimat
moves forward with the club, like a true grass divot,
upon the slightest contact, so there is no 'grabbing'
damage to the mat.
Will
the bungee cord last long ?
Minimats are hand crafted with
1/8" industrial bungee cord for a long lasting
mat. The bungee cords are thus stretched only
slightly before the mat releases from the upward
moving club - an average of 1/4" - 2" with
good ball contact, 3" - 6" in a heavy hit.
The cords last for years under these conditions.
Does
the mat remain in place using only golf tees to
fasten it ?
Minimat remains in position for
hundreds of shots without being refastened, subject
to ground conditions! This is achieved by the
patented construction of two components and two sets
of tees working independently: (1) to hold the anchor
mat which is independent of (2) the bungee cord
fixings.
What's
the big advantage compared
with conventional and range mats ?
Minimat reacts & feel like real
turf allowing you to groove a swing that's effective
on the course. You are able to clip (or sweep) the
ball off the mat just like fairway turf, or to hit
down onto the ball with your irons as you accelerate
through the ball. Too often, golfers find that they
can't repeat what appear to be good shots at the
range when they arrive at the golf course. The reason
is that clubs will bounce off static mats as you tend
to decelerate on impact, or scoop the ball for fear
of injury. Also, brush mats allow you to contact the
mat anywhere behind the ball (even 6") so, as
long as you continue swinging through, you will make
ball contact and get away with it. Natural grass
doesn't react this way!
Where
can I use it ?
Minimat can be used anywhere. It's
small and light enough to carry in your golf bag or
even your jacket pocket so you can have it with you
whenever any opportunity arises. It works well on
hardpan soil, wet ground, long grass etc. Apart from
creating a good surface for every type of shot,
Minimats save the grass. Even in very small gardens
they can be used to practice your short game (or just
to swing) without damage
